This Mom Married Her Sperm Donor After Her kid’s Birth
Meeting for the 1st time 1 year after they conceived a baby via IVF sperm donation, this couple had instant sparks.
1st comes to love, then comes marriage, then comes to the kids in the baby carriage. Er, unless you are Australian couple Aminah Hart and Scott Andersen. Because they had a child together before they even met!
You see, in 2012 Aminah welcomed her baby girl Leila via IVF using an anonymous sperm donor. Heartbreakingly, she would lose 2 previous kids, sons, Marlon and Louis, when they were kids because they suffered from a genetic disorder called x-linked myotubular myopathy.
Thankfully, Leila was born normal healthy. And after her birth, the forty-two years old mother was inspired to track down the donor, as she feared to have her baby girl grow up without a father as she had.
Well, the donor turned out to be Scott, who had always been open to meeting a baby he fathered.
And in a real-life is-stranger-than-fiction twist, the parents met in 2013, experienced an instant spark (could it have been of the biochemical variety that helped make them compatible for creating a new life?), fell in love, and got married in 2015 in a beautiful seaside ceremony. Leila served as their flower girl.
Recently, Aminah has written an e-book called How I Met Your Father. Its described on Amazon as “the extraordinary real story of a lady who overcame terrible losses to find love and happiness in a most unexpected way.” I will say!
